Great Grandma Platt's Thanksgiving Rolls

Mix together 2 Cups luke warm water, 1/2 C sugar, 1 1/2 t salt
Add 1 packet yeast, still to dissolve
Add 1 egg, 1/4 soft shortening, mix
Add 6-7 1/2 C flour
Knead, cover with wet cloth. Let rise 1 hour
Punch down, form into rolls. Let rise 1 hour
Bake 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes
